Nathan Wilmer & Evan Michael Heins

It hasnt happened in over a decade…well, not counting funerals or weddings. But last Sunday, the Arnott bunch gathered at my uncle Barry’s to see my cousin who was down from Hamilton with her three kids. And to introduce the cousins’ kids to each other.

Sunday we loaded the boys into the van at 7:30 in the morning and headed for Arnprior. Nate chatted up a storm the entire way there, Evan slept through it. We stopped in Arnprior for a tea for mommy, a bagel for daddy and timbits for Nate and then it was out to the cottage for Evan’s first visit there.

Tuesday, we went to visit Dr. Kent. It was our first visit since leaving the hospital and it was to check our weight and height and make sure that everything was working as it should.

Evan gained a pound in a week! Dr. Kent was very happy about that. She marveled at how alert he was, she cooed over him. She reassured mommy that Evan was doing just fine.

Evan came home on Tuesday afternoon from the hospital.
