Metcalfe Fair, 2010
After Nate’s nap today, we packed the boys up and headed into the bustling metropolis of Metcalfe to enjoy the fair. Nate had a great time this year. Evan tolerated it, as he does most things right now.
This year, he didnt try to jump off the merry-go-round. He went up and down and around and around. He smiled at Mom, who was holding on to him. He looked for dad and Evan in the crowd. Loved it. Thought we were going to have a problem when the ride finished but thankfully the fair is full of distractions, so it wasnt that much of a problem.
He played a ball toss game and won himself a stuffed hippo. He and hippo chatted all the way home. I have no pictures of the hippo.
There was a rather snarly man protecting the pumpkins from the torture of small children leaning on, or sitting on, them. So we stood Nate in the middle of them and took the picture. Our mistake was in telling him to smile. That’s the face he makes when he smiles. I suppose we could stop telling him that its a beautiful smile, but it is rather adorable and he does have a beautiful face, no matter how he contorts it.
