Sarnia comes to town
Since I had Evan, I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out how to get to Sarnia to get my annual fix from my college friend and his wife and kids. I had just come to the conclusion that it just wasnt going to be possible when they told me that they were coming to us!
Well, to a cottage near us. Same thing. :)
Thomas and Nate are around the same age (Thomas is six months older) and he and Nate have always surprised the adults in how well they play together. Doesnt matter that they’ve only been together once a year, they get along so well everytime! Its fantastic because they truly occupy each other. Evan still isnt sure about Mackenzie, but she kept trying to trade soothers with Evan, so that might not have won her a lot of points this time around. We’ll see what next year brings.
Nate and Thomas spent a chunk of the morning playing in the sand and the hammock. The hammock (and James) was a big hit with Nate.
The ducks, while entertaining at first, did not make friends with Nate. One came right up to him, stood toe to toe with Nate and tried to steal Horsie, his stuffed horse. After that, ducks were approached with extreme caution (though no less enthusiasm).
We had a great day out at the cottage. Naps were a huge success and dinner was an entertaining circus. Dont know if Jeff still bears the scars of experiencing dinner time with two two-year-olds. Nate made it home before passing out. But when he passed out, he took it seriously.
