A Day in Merrickville
After leaving the cottage I beelined it for Gramma’s house. It was my only hope to save my sanity. Nate was so happy to be at Gramma’s store. There’s sand there right now, so the trucks could be played with as they are meant to be. We hung out there until lunch time and then headed to Gramma’s house for lunch and nap, both of which were consumed with gusto.
We woke up on Wednesday and decided to take a trip to scenic Merrickville to watch the boats go through the locks on the Rideau Canal. We figured this would be right up Nate’s alley and boy were we right!
Once the boats had gone through the locks and Nate waved to them, we took a walk through Merrickville. We stopped at a park bench for a snack. I went to the coffee shop for a mid-morning pick me up (boy did I need it, even though Gramma handled Evan’s middle of the night feeds), stopped at another park bench to have a poop, then it was back into the van to go back to Gramma’s for lunch and nap.
